One Bad Pig is a Christian punk and metal crossover band from Austin, Texas which formed in 1985. The Encyclopedia of Contemporary Christian Music describes them as "Quite possibly the most popular hard-punk act ever to arise within the Christian music scene." They were known for their mischief and irreverence on-stage, as reflected even in their reunion at Cornerstone in 2000.
Bob Hartman performed as a guest guitarist on One Bad Pig's cover of his song "Judas Kiss" from his band Petra's More Power To Ya album. **
One Bad Pig es una banda que toca una mezcla entre punk y metal cristiano, proveniente de Austin, Texas, formada en 1985. La Encyclopedia of Contemporary Christian Music los describe como: "posiblemente el acto hard-punk más popular que jamás haya aparecido en la escena músical cristiana". Ellos son conocidos por su aparente caos e irreverencia en el escenario, tal y como se pudo apreciar en su reunión para el concierto de Cornerstone en el año 2000.

On April 13, 1988, in Nashville, Tennessee, 100 of Christian music's most popular recording artists and musicians volunteered their time and talents to create the "Carry The Light" recording and video. These dedicated artists, with vision far beyond their individual ministries, came together for a single purpose: to encourage hundreds of people around the world to actively take part in helping to fulfill Jesus' last command to us: "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every living creature." "Carry The Light" has been selected as the official theme song for the Target 2000 Great Commission Torch Run. The torch run is sponsored by the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization, which represents missions organizations from around the world. On Easter Sunday a torch was lit on the Mt. of Ascension in Israel and began its journey around the globe. Young Christians from every nation are running with the torch in a practical demonstration of their commitment to "carry the light" of Jesus Christ to the whole world. Together we can take the message to every man, woman, and child in our generation.

Artistas y Amigos - CARRY THE LIGHT
En abril de 1989, en Nashville, Tennessee, 100 de los mas representativos cantantes y músicos cristianos aportaron voluntariamente su tiempo su tiempo y talento para crear la canción y video "Carry the Ligth". Estos dedicados artistas, con una visión mayor a la de sus ministerios individuales se unieron con un sencillo propisito: animar a incontables hermanos alrededor del mundo a paricipar activamante en el todo inclusivo último mandamiento de Jesús: "Id por todo el mundo y predicad el evangelio a toda criatura". La canción "Carry The Light" fue seleccionada como el tema oficial de la "2000 Great Commission Torch Run" (Caminata de la Gran COmisión de las 2000 antorchas; traducción literal). La caminata fue patrocinada por el comite Lausanne para World Evangelization (Evangelización Mundial), que representa a misiones y organizaciones dispersas por todo el mundo.
El domingo de resurrección de ese año una antorcha fue encendida en el monte de la Ascención en Israel y dio paso a un recorrido por todo el mundo. Jovenes cristianos representantes de cada nación corrieron junto con la antorcha en una demostración practica de su compromiso a "llevar la antorcha" (Carry The Light) de Jesús a todo el mundo.
Juntos podemos tomar este mensaje a cada hombre, mujer y niño de nuestra generación.
Se realizó, además, un proyecto músical, una recopilación de temas de los artistas que participaron en esta canción. La relación de artistas y canciones es la siguiente:

Personal note: I was a little 12 years old boy when I hear for the first time this album, -and discovered Petra at the same time; I was in a Church Picnic and from nowhere the tune of "I love the Lord" sounds in the air just like drums and, I remember, run to my father and scream: What's that sound? What's that music? He doesn’t know, but he took me and we walk to the source of the sound: a very old cassette recorder. One man was selling Christian cassettes and, in that moment, "King of Kings" explote from the device. My father took the tape and read the track list. He says "Hey, I know a lot of these songs". He buys the cassette and gives to me. The image of this desert and five mans over a stone in the cover blow my mind. And today, this album still is a bless and a personal commitment source. I can't remember how many times I cry listening this album, feeling God's presence. I hope my son one day personally meet God, the only behind this band.
Nota personal: Yo no era más que un muchachito de 12 años cuando escuche por primera vez este álbum -y descubrí a Petra al mismo tiempo; Yo estaba en un día de campo organizado por la iglesia y de la nada apareció la tonada de "I love the Lord" sonando como un tambor en el aire. Recuerdo haber corrido hacía mi padre y haberle preguntado "¿Qué es ese sonido? ¿Qué es esa música?" Él no sabía pero me tomó de la mano y fuimos juntos hacía la fuente de aquel sonido: una vieja reproductora de cassettes. Un hombre estaba vendiendo cassettes cristianos y en ese momento "Rey the Reyes" (King of Kings) estallaba desde el aparato. Mi padre tomó el cassette y leyó el contenido del mismo. Dijo: "Hey, yo conozco varias de estas". Lo pagó y me lo dio. La imagen de aquel desierto y aquellos cinco hombres sobre una roca en la portada hizo estallar mi mente. Y hasta hoy, este álbum sigue siendo una bendición y fuente de compromiso personal. No puedo recordar siquiera cuántas ocasiones llore escuchando estas canciones sintiendo la presencia de Dios conmigo. Tengo al esperanza que ahora, mi hijo un día conozca personalmente a Dios, quien esta detrás de esta banda.

Faith as it relates to life could perhaps best be defined as a confidence that God's Word is reliable and that it can be trusted. That trust in turn reshapes our thinking as we express our trust in God by acting on His Word and putting it into practice.

In our culture we think that "to follow" means to put ourselves in a secondary position. In Bible times the streets were so narrow that two people walking together had to go single file. "To follow" simply means to go with.

The goal of hearing God is to have our outlook on life and relationships completely reshaped, so that our values attitudes and understanding of daily living will be determined by God and His Word.

Dios nunca prometió que nuestra vida resultaria fácil cuando llegaramos a confiar en Él y a conducir nuestra vida con el único motivo de agradarle.

En nuestra cultura pensamos que "SEGUIR" significa colocarnos en una posición secundaría. En tiempos biblicos las calles eran tan estrechas que dos personas que caminaban juntas tenían que ir una detras de la otra. "SEGUIR" simplemente significa "IR CON...", "ACOMPAÑAR A..."
En ese caso, ¿dónde colocamos a Jesus cuando enfrentamos todas las decisiones y tentaciones de nuestra vida?

Before Petra's album "Captured in Time and Space", Greg X Volz quit the band to follow a solo career. This first project was "The River is Rising", an excellent album, and, I think, better produced and more creative than "Back to The Street", next Petra project, both released in 1986. I'm going to post only two albums from Greg's career, just because John Schlitt only have two albums at this moment (well, tree, but I still brought the new one).

So, this is wrong?
Somebody write in the blog and tell this: "Please, share with me a copy of this CD, PETRA (1974), 'cause I can't find this album". I looked for this and, it's true, you can't get a copy of this LP anymore, not from the official sources (petramerchandise.com). Plus, this album, PETRA (1974) is Out of Print and Out of Stock. Perhaps you can buy mp3 files from sites just like Amazon.com, CD Universe or Tower.com, even to a particular (someone who sells an old copy or something like that) but Petra don't receive a dollar of that transaction.
So, if I upload the album to a server, and let that anyone can download, it something wrong? Let me know, please.
Alguien escribió al blog y me dijo esto: Por favor, comparte consigo una copia de este disco, PETRA (1974), porque no puedo encontrarlo en ninguna parte.
